Chattanooga Schwinn Adventures | An Unexpected Find
I am beyond honored to have been chosen as a 2016 Schwinn Ambassador, and I plan to use this opportunity to explore my new city, Chattanooga, TN.
It’s hard to believe not too long ago that Chattanooga was known as one of the dirtiest cities in the country, mostly because of its manufacturing industry. After going through a revival, Chattanooga, known as the Scenic City, has an abundance of natural beauty, an impressive waterfront with walkable streetscapes, a vibrant downtown, diverse dining scene, fiber optic internet, and is a hot spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Winning Outdoor Magazine’s Best Town Ever award in 2015, the city is a popular destination for the rock climbing and cycling communities. If you ask someone what they’re doing this weekend, more than likely they will say, “climbing or biking.”
With Chattanooga’s revival comes a mix of the old with the new. Recently a building in my neighborhood was demolished to make way for a new development, and this beautiful hand painted wall was temporarily revealed! My husband and I discovered this hidden gem while, you guessed it, riding our bikes. We decided to document some history and show off my new Schwinn Gateway.
I’ve just begun to scratch the surface of everything Chattanooga has to offer, so stay tuned for the many cycling adventures on my Schwinn Gateway.
