FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

For more detailed information on how we work, please check out the design process page. Depending on your project, the completion time will depend on the client response time, number of revisions, and what our current project schedule is. After your consultation, we’ll establish a schedule to use as a guideline which may have to be revised depending on what comes up. Rush services are available for an additional fee.

We’re always excited to start on a new project, and would love to start right away. However, our availability at times may be limited due to high client volume. In order to make sure we provide all of our clients with quality work, we prefer not to rush through projects. We also will need your project vision, content (if applicable), and domain and hosting login information before any web projects can begin. Small projects can be turned around more quickly and rush services are available if needed.

In order to keep our focus on designing quality work, we prefer to stay out of the hosting business. The client is responsible for purchasing their domain name, hosting services and setting up the hosting space, and maintaining payments. Assistance is available for this process as an additional service. Nicole Victory Design is not responsible for server downtime or any email issues, software issues, or compatibility problems that may occur due to problems with the host. Web design packages do not include WordPress or plug-in updates. A website maintenance package may be purchased for an additional fee. We recommend making updates every 3 months. All sales are final after the launch of the website and additional revisions will be billed at an hourly rate.

In order to respect our client’s time and our own time, we have set office hours which run Monday – Friday 9 am – 4:30 pm. We typically respond to emails received after 5:00 pm by the next business day.

We offer pricing to fit a variety of budgets. Please see our starting rates for branding services here and web design services here. Due to the custom nature of all projects, it’s best for us to provide you with an individual quote that fits not only your budget but your unique needs. Please email me or fill out the form here to get started.

For all projects, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to get started and final payment is due before the launch of the website or final print files are provided. Payment plans are available for larger projects. Please email me if you would like to do a payment plan. We accept payments via check, ACH transfer, Paypal, or Venmo.

We always strive to provide our clients with a custom product that fits their needs. After the initial consultation, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required. However, if you’re not happy with the direction of the design after the presentation of the initial design and all included revisions have been exhausted, the final balance will not be required. No source files will be provided.

The Design Process

Tending to all the details of your unique project is a process, so turn around time is dependent on client response time, revisions, and our current wait list. Below is an outline of how our design process works to ensure you receive the perfect design for your business.

01

Initial Consultation

This is the start of a creative union! Upon receiving your inquiry, we will set up a phone or email consultation and chat about the details of your project. We’ll ask questions about your type of business, your creative vision, goals, and style you’re looking for, and please feel free to ask any questions you may have for us. This gives a chance for us to get to know each other, and see if this will be a good creative fit.

02

Quote and Project Details

If we both feel this is a good fit, we will provide you with a quote outlining the project details as discussed along with a pricing break down. If you are ready to move forward with the project, then we’ll ask for you to provide your down payment made via check, ACH, Paypal, or Venmo. For larger projects, we do allow payment plans, so please just ask if this is an option you’d like to consider.

03

Client Responsibilities

For each project we will need details of what your creative vision is. For websites, flyers, brochures, etc we will need all the content and pictures that you would like to use provided to us. For your website design we will need access to your domain and hosting accounts. If you are unable to set this up, we can assist for an additional fee.

04

Time Frame and Deposit

Upon receipt of your down payment and content (if applicable), we will put your project on the schedule and let the fun begin! We’ll send over a schedule outline to let you know when you can expect to receive comps to review. The schedule for your project will depend on when you provide us with your content (if applicable) your response time, number of revisions, and how many other projects we also have going on.

05

Project Completion

If you have purchased a branding and identity project, we will finalize all the files included in that package, creating your seamless new brand. Once the revision process is complete, the final design will be presented. An invoice will be sent for final payment, and once received, we will provide a link for you to download your final, print ready files.

The Website Design Process

01

The Foundation

A business brand and identity needs to be established before a website can be designed, so if you have purchased a logo and branding package, this will be completed before the website. If you already have these items, we will need to have them provided to us, so we can begin to design a look and feel for your website that matches your existing style. All website content will need to be finalized and provided to us before the website design process can begin.

Once all content is provided, we will begin the design process. A test site will be set up for all revisions to be made to before the site goes live. On the test site, we will set up a home page and 1 interior page for you to review before moving forward. This is where the revision process will begin (2 rounds of revisions are included. Any revisions beyond that will be billed at our hourly rate). We can revise these pages until everything is just right. Once you are comfortable with the style and layout, We’ll continue to build the rest of the website.

02

Website Review and Final Launch

Once the site is complete, this is where you will have the opportunity to go through the site and make sure everything is just how you want. This is when we will also review the site and test all of the links and make sure the features are working correctly.

We will provide you with a screen shot tutorial on how to use your website and perform simple actions such as posting to your blog or updating content.

If you would prefer to have us maintain the site, we can provide this service for an additional fee. We highly recommend updating WordPress and your theme and plug-ins at least every 3 months to keep everything running smoothly.

If you are happy with the site and the testing process has been thoroughly completed, we will send an invoice for the final payment. Once final payment is received, your site will be launched!

Website Maintenance Services

Between WordPress, themes, and plug-in updates, we recommend that your website be updated at least every 3 months. We offer website maintenance plans for after your site is launched. We will need your hosting and domain information in order to make these updates. Below is a list of maintenance services we offer:

  • WordPress updates
  • Plug-in updates
  • Theme updates
  • Setting up a site back up schedule
  • Is something not working right? Let me have a look and see how to fix it.

Maintenance packages are sold separately and priced based on individual needs.

Nicole Victory Design is not responsible for site backups, and we highly recommend you back up your site before making any updates.
