Summer is in full swing here in Michigan, and The Harsens Island Social Club is enjoying their third annual custom designed Silipint glasses. What started out as a daily happy hour on a shared dock between a few neighbors, has expanded into a larger club that enjoys philosophical conversation over a cold beer.
Beer glasses just weren’t cutting it, so the social club was in need of a durable and safe cup that could be carried between houses without the fear of breakable glass. Enter Silipint. These silicone drinking glasses are BPA free and unbreakable. So, what happens when a designer joins the social club? Branding of course! The social club wanted to incorporate a theme and do a new design and color every year which has been a dream project for me!

Harsens Island is a small island on Lake St. Clair that can only be accessed by ferry. Because there was a possibility of the island being connected to the mainland by a bridge, this year’s theme was in honor of the Champion’s Auto Ferry, the island’s ferry service. The bridge project fell through, and the island continues to be accessed by ferry only. I’m looking forward to many more years of the sound of the ferry’s engine melting my stress away.
