STORYTELLING IS IMPORTANT TO CREATING A CLIENT CONNECTION TO YOUR BRAND. HERE’S MY STORY FULL OF FUN 80s REFERENCES AND THEN I WANT TO HEAR YOURS!
It all started back in 1984 in Knoxville, TN, sigh…I miss the 80s. My dad brought home our first Mac, and I was hooked on graphic design. I started a neighborhood newspaper and later a magazine when I was 8 years old, employing the neighborhood kids as contributing staff members. We gathered weekly in my She-Ra tent (another 80s reference), and had little lap desks where we wrote our articles. I used my Dad’s home office copier to run the presses for the monthly magazine. Thanks Dad!
A Tennessee girl at heart, I took a 15 year big city detour where I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta, before settling back into small city living in Chattanooga, TN.
While in Atlanta, I worked in the printing and print finishing industry (nothing beats an epic foil stamp and emboss combo!) and grew my freelance business. I always knew I wanted to work for myself, so in 2011, I left my job and pursued my freelance design business full time.
I love connecting with other business owners, and sharing in their passion for taking the road less traveled. As you can see designing is in my blood, and I’m so thankful to have found a career that I not only enjoy, I love!
