Fall is in the air here in Chattanooga, and my husband and I decided to enjoy the cooler temperatures by taking an early morning ride across the Walnut Street Bridge.

One of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world, The Walnut Street Bridge is an old railroad bridge that has been re-purposed  into a pedestrian only bridge connecting down town with the North Shore. My Schwinn Gateway was perfect for this type of ride as we enjoyed beautiful views of the Tennessee River and Lookout Mountain.

After crossing the bridge into downtown, we explored the Bluff View Art District, and continued along the Riverwalk, a 13 mile paved pathway that runs along the Tennessee River. Wooden board walks, forested trails, and views of the Tennessee River are just some of the amazing sites we enjoyed on our ride.

After all that riding, we worked up an appetite and had brunch at the Bitter Alibi, which has the most amazing logo. The food was good too. 🙂

I’m so happy Fall has arrived and am looking forward to many more rides across the bridge.
